Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning:
Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and customer demand.
Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure production targets are met efficiently and on time.
Monitor production capacity and adjust schedules to optimize the use of resources.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, Quality Control) to align production timelines with regulatory requirements.
Inventory Control:
Oversee inventory management to ensure adequate stock levels of raw materials and finished goods.
Conduct regular inventory audits and ensure accurate stock reporting.
Implement inventory optimization techniques, such as Just-In-Time (JIT) and Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), to reduce waste and minimize costs.
Demand Forecasting:
Work closely with sales and marketing teams to forecast demand and ensure alignment between production and market needs.
Use data analysis to predict future trends and adjust production plans accordingly.
Supply Chain Coordination:
Coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement of raw materials and packaging components.
Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers to ensure efficient delivery of products.
Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks in the supply chain, such as delays or disruptions.
Process Improvement:
Continuously evaluate and improve PPIC processes to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
Implement Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies to drive operational excellence.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, inventory turnover, and production efficiency.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure all production and inventory processes comply with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, GMP).
Maintain accurate documentation for production schedules, inventory levels, and process changes.
Participate in audits and inspections as required by regulatory bodies.
Team Leadership (if applicable):
Lead and mentor a team of planners and inventory control staff.
Foster a collaborative environment focused on meeting company goals.
