Role & responsibilities
- Operate and monitor O’Hara tablet coating machines in accordance with BMR/BPR and SOP requirements.
- Perform complete machine setup, parameter optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth and efficient coating operations.
- Set and control key coating parameters including pan speed, spray rate, inlet/outlet temperatures, and atomizing air pressure.
- Prepare coating solutions/dispersion accurately and manage batch loading and unloading activities.
- Conduct all In-Process Checks (IPC) such as weight gain, coating uniformity, appearance, and defect inspection.
- Independently execute coating batches, maintain accurate documentation/logbooks, and provide guidance to junior operators.
- Support process validation, scale-up activities, and minor preventive maintenance.
- Carry out equipment cleaning (CIP/manual), nozzle cleaning, and assist with minor machine troubleshooting.
- Ensure strict compliance with cGMP, safety standards, and documentation practices during all operations.
- Coordinate effectively with Production, QA, and Engineering teams for batch execution, deviation handling, and equipment readiness.
Required Skills:
- Hands-on experience with OHara coating machines (Labcoat / Perfima / continuous coaters).
- Knowledge of film coating & enteric coating processes.
- Basic troubleshooting (nozzle choking, spray pattern, airflow issues).
- Coating solution preparation skills.
- Good understanding of cGMP documentation.
- Ability to handle pan cleaning, assembly, and filter handling
