Job Description/Skills Required
Process Chemistry :
- Exposure to synthetic organic chemistry & physical organic chemistry, process development, organometallic chemistry and catalysis.
Strategy design :
- Lead the team to screen, validate and execute routes for APIs
- Identify challenges and propose alternatives that are cost-effective, efficient and preferably green RoS
- Generate final route selection document and product strategy report
- Perform literature studies and evaluate data to summarise the route selection strategy and identify challenges
- Identify the cost effective routes and IP compliant routes
Process development and optimisation :
- Lead planning for process development and execute experiments for HPTs adopting QbD approach.
- Develop scalable and robust processes integrating chemistry and unit operations
- Coordinate with MSAT team to ensure compliance and timely execution in terms of QbD elements, safety and project deliverables
- Monitor and review the progress of the project
- Collaborate with the team to synthesise challenging impurities and to prepare degradation pathways
Functional knowledge :
- Expertise in organic chemistry with deep understanding of reaction mechanisms, by products and possible side reactions
- Understand analytical techniques
Process scale up & validation :
- Lead tech transfer for multiple projects
- Monitor progress of plant performance as compared to lab performance for multiple projects
- Anticipate and address issues in batch failures and design the studies/experiments to resolve the issues
- Collaborate with CFTs to finalise deviation and investigation reports
Coaching & Mentoring :
Provide proactive technical guidance to API R&D product teams on execution issues. Coach API R&D product team members by providing technical guidance on complex execution issues related to area of expertise- Periodically impart training on critical / complex technical areas to enhance teams skills and performance
