- Official received information that few clinics in Surat and Vadodara are evading GST .
- Search had been conducted by DGGI (Directorate General of GST Intelligence) at various locations of Surat and Vadodara.
- They were evading payment of GST on aesthetic procedures which are performed by Dermatologist and Trichologists.
- DGGI exposed GST tax evasion of around Rs. 1 crore from around eight clinics.
- Clinics were under impression that Aesthetic procedures such as Hair Transparent , Hair Reduction , Skin Glowing , Pigment Reduction , Dark Circle , Puffiness reduction fall etc doesn’t fall under GST .
- The Officials cleared the air by saying that the procedure is liable for GST.
- The clinics had not registered with GST , post scrutiny , they have started registration process.
