- M.Sc., in Biotechnology / Microbiology/Biochemistry / M.Tech in Biotechnology from a highly reputed institute.Â

Job Description
A. Technology / Bioprocess development
- Develop new technologies / products using fermentation technology (Submerged Solid state), Microbiological processes, enzymatic processes , carry out fermenter process optimization and trouble shooting.Â
- Isolation and identification of microbial cultures, strain development (Mutation / gene modification), process optimization, fermenter parameter optimization using mathematical modeling.Â
Perform protein purification using chromatography (HPLC, FPLC) and conduct enzyme assays for activity, specificity, and kinetics. Utilize mass spectrometry (MS) for protein identification and quantification, and apply spectroscopic methods (UV-Vis, fluorescence) for protein analysis.
Prepare and maintain protein/enzyme stocks, develop protocols for extraction and purification.Â
Perform electrophoretic techniques such as SDS-PAGE and Western blotting, with added advantage in handling bioinformatics tools.
Experience in lab scale, pilot plant fermenter, centrifuges, filtration techniques (micro, ultra and nano filtration), different chromatography purification (Ion exchange and size exclusion), evaporation and spray dryingÂ
Preparation of SOPs, STPs in compliance to the process. Active trouble shooting to minimize the various risks prior to execution and during execution.Â
Experience with DOE and statistical analysis.
Data generation, compilation, review, records and trends to formulate for the upstream/downstream process development order to support and make recommendations for improvements.
Handful knowledge and independent experimental designing and execution of  molecular biology related techniques viz., gene identification, cloning, over expression, etc.Â
Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and SAP is a plus
B. People and Process Development
Collaborate with members within and other verticals such as Business, production QA, QC and operation team.Â
Work closely with colleagues from Fermentation division for process scale up
Accountability:
Successful development, Â scale up and downstream processing of new products
Successful delivery of technology to business
Achievement of process improvements to improve cost efficiencies, product throughput etc.
Ensure appropriate allocation of resources between the projects for its optimum utilization.
KPI :
Number of technologies / products developed and lab and pilot scale
Number of downstream processes developed for product purification
No of Analytical method and assay development
