Job Purpose
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic NGS and Molecular biology scientist at Senior Associate Scientist level to join the Genomics and Translational Biology section of Discovery Biology, a multidisciplinary team with capabilities in next generation sequencing, molecular biology and translational research.
Key Responsibilities:Â
The ideal candidate will have broad laboratory training, deep scientific curiosity and a positive approach to working in a team-based research environment along with a track record of creative problem-solving and enthusiasm for taking on difficult research challenges.
Should be able to work towards optimization, troubleshooting and assay development in key NGS based and specific protocols, assays, molecular biology work and real time PCR.
Works in a team and coordinate workflows across the wider team.
Identify and implement new methods for optimizing new workflows in NGS, single cell sequencing platforms and adhere to timelines and implementations.
Works diligently with functional deliverables, responsibilities and safe operations and adhere to standards of quality and integrity set by Syngene from time to time.
Understanding and demonstrating responsibility for safety of self & colleagues by following all safety protocols provided by Syngene.
Adherence to all environment, health, and safety (EHS) policies & standards at all times in the workplace.
Wearing all PPE as required.

Educational Qualification:Â
M.Sc in Life SciencesÂ
Technical/functional Skills:
Well versed in NGS workflows, library preparation and sequencing and other molecular biology techniques such as Tapestation, qubit, DNA/ RNA isolations, library generation and QC based across kits, sequencing across MiSeq and NextSeq platform, single cell sequencing, qPCR, primer designing, assay development and other molecular biology techniques.
Knowledge of basic data generation by sequencing, fastq file generation and QC after de-multiplexing. Understanding of sequencing across platforms, sanger sequencing, RNA isolation and QC, must have experience in various DNA isolation and scale up techniques.
Should have an understanding of basis analysis and software involved.
Knowledge of optimizing protocols and kits for studies ranging from library preparation from Transcriptomic studies, metagenome, VDJ, DGE sequencing, variant calling, quantseq pool, amplicon, WES, WGS, targeted sequencing, insert characterization, viral testing and assay development to clinical testing.
Skilled towards optimization, troubleshooting and execution of projects and guiding the team.
Preference will be given to those candidates who have had experience of performing experiments across platforms, different sample types and diverse projects.
Thinks in regard to options when identifying solutions, develops new approaches to improve or replace existing procedures or systems, generates alternatives prior to settling on a solution.
Quickly understands what brand-new tasks/jobs require, recognizes timelines and commitments, quickly understands and utilizes procedures, technologies, and ideas that are constantly being upgraded.
