Job Description/Skills Required
- Periodic Safety Update Reports (PSURs)*
- Medical review of PSURs clinical inputs for various formats of periodic reporting documents for submission to regulatory agencies globally. A non-inclusive indicative list of activities is as below:
- Provide medical inputs for section 16 of PSUR – “Signal and risk evaluation”:
- Identification of the important identified and potential risks and missing information associated with use of the product
- Evaluation of new information with respect to previously recognised risks
- Characterisation of important potential and identified risks
- Medical review of safety communications released by competent authorities for safety reasons and its influence on the risk-benefit balance of the authorised medicinal product (PSUR Section 3 “Actions taken in the reporting interval for safety reasons”)
- Analysis and summary of patterns of medication errors and potential medication errors (PSUR sub-section 9.2 “Medication errors”)
- Medical review of scientific literature for identification of new and significant safety findings (PSUR section 11 “Literature”)
- Preparation/ Review of summary tabulation for ADRs
- Clinical inputs for Regulatory Agency Queries or Request for Information
- Clinical analysis of individual cases in light of aggregate information
- Evaluation of Emerging Safety Issues or Significant Safety Issues:
- Performing evaluation of ESI/SSIs as per set practices
