Job Title: General Manager – Pharmaceutical Formulations

Job Summary:

The General Manager of Pharmaceutical Formulations will oversee all aspects of the pharmaceutical formulations manufacturing operations, with a specific focus on the production of tablets, capsules,

ointments, and ensuring FDA-approved processes. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, particularly in formulations. The GM will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve the company’s manufacturing goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the pharmaceutical formulations manufacturing plant.
• Ensure efficient production schedules and optimize resource utilization for tablets, capsules, and ointments.
• Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality and regulatory standards, including FDA-approved processes.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), FDA regulations, regulatory guidelines, and company standards.
• Implement and maintain quality assurance programs to achieve consistent product quality for tablets, capsules, and ointments.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address compliance issues.

Team Leadership:

• Lead and manage a team of production, quality control, and quality assurance professionals.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
• Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and capabilities.

Strategic Planning and Execution:

• Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve manufacturing goals and objectives.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
• Collaborate with senior management to align manufacturing strategies with overall company goals.

Financial Management:

• Prepare and manage the manufacturing budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
• Monitor and control manufacturing expenses to meet financial targets.
• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and drive profitability.

Supply Chain Management:

• Ensure effective coordination with procurement, inventory management, and logistics teams.
• Optimize supply chain processes to ensure timely availability of raw materials and finished products.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to achieve favourable terms.

Regulatory Affairs:

• Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure compliance with new requirements.
• Manage product registrations and renewals, especially for FDA-approved processes.

Health, Safety, and Environment:

• Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
• Conduct regular safety audits and address any identified issues.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education: Bachelor’s degree.

Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.

Skills:

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical formulation manufacturing processes and technologies, specifically in the production of tablets, capsules, and ointments.
• Excellent understanding of GMP, FDA regulations, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using manufacturing and quality management software.
