So here are few practical roles in the pharmaceutical industry:
1. Production/Packing
Batch record preparation and Review of Executed batches, Managing shifts, Getting involved in operations like Granulation, Sifting, Coating, Packing(basically all operations of manufacturing and packing till you get final packed product), Inprocess testing, Being on the production line, Training other junior employees at later stage. Also looking out for causes of any deviation (unexpected result) and possible improvements.
2. Quality Assurance
Approval of all documents from draft batch record to executed, validation documents, investigating failures and you will be responsible from Quality point. Your role will be to assure everything is working fine and Quality is priority.
3. Quality Control
Testing and Analysis, Calibration, Stability. You will get to work on sophisticated instruments like HPLC, GC, NMR and so many others you just read about in books! You will have to keep track that all results are released timely for batch release.
4. Stores
You can be hired here for review and calibration of stores equipment, machine qualification and other dispensing monitoring activities.
5. Medical writing
Here you will be researching, writing content for top companies. So you need to be good in research and willing to learn and read content.
6. Clinical research
Here you will be seeing that trials are completed as per plan and all clinical trial aspect related documentation.
7. Pharmacovigilance
You work on adverse drug reporting data to see what are the side effects caused by drug and how much percentage of the population was affected. Study of adverse effects post the release of drug in market.
8. Information Technology
